Sharing and Caring, a Crestview-based non-profit that relies solely on community funding to provide food, housing, clothing and emergency expenses to vulnerable residents, has seen an increased need for food and supplies for local homeless and lower income families that are experiencing hardship in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, our employees at Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida stepped up and made donations that resulted in approximately 100 pounds of food and hygiene items. Once again, our team rose to the challenge of meeting our community’s needs!
Sharing and Caring was founded in 1985 by Mary Jo Copeland of Minneapolis to help the poor by organizing volunteers and donations from local church congregations and communities. In addition to providing essential survival items to homeless, the organization assists with dental clinics, eye exams and glasses funds for children. Their dedication to local communities makes a difference in so many lives by bridging caring volunteers and resources to people in need.
This was the first time Guardian NEFL has been able to assist with food donations from our local facility. We look forward to continuing our commitment to assist our communities in the future.
